Altenew July 2022 Summer Love Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway($300 in Total Prizes)
Today’s Hop is all about 3D Embossing Folders and Stencils
I have 5 cards for you today, and as with all of Altenew’s hops, you’ll have a chance to win prizes. Please read to the end. If you’ve been following along on the hop, you’ve arrived from Mindy Eggen’s Blog. If you’d like to start at the beginning of the hop go to Altenew’s Blog.
My first card today was made with Altenew’s Flower Vines embossing folder. I embossed two pieces of white cardstock. One I used for the base and the second piece I die cut the word Happy using Script Words 2 die set and I cut out a strip for the word Birthday using the Featured Sentiments die set. I used the Shades of Purple die inks to stamp the word Birthday and color the word Happy. I lined up the embossing of the word Happy and the sentiment strip with the embossing on the card base.
My second card uses the same embossing folder, Flower Vines, but this time I used the Detail Blending Brushes to color the flowers and leaves. I used Minty Mint die ink for the leaves and Snapdragon die ink for the flowers. I die cut Celebrate out of orange cardstock and mounted it on the same color cardstock.
This card uses the Geo Triangles and the coordinating coloring stencils. I colored the embossed cardstock using the Frozen Delights die inks. Then cut a strip off the top and bottom to use on my card base. I used the Tropical Garden Stamp and Die set for the flowers and the sentiment.
For this card I embossed watercolor paper using Sunshine Blossom 3D embossing folder. Then I colored it using Altenew’s 36 Pan Watercolor Set. The sentiment is from Build-A-Garden: Magnificent Branch.
This last card is my least favorite. I included it because it’s a good technique, I just don’t think I exercised it well. But you can see not all creations are great, and just because I don’t like it doesn’t mean someone else won’t. I colored the debossed side of Altenew’s Flower Vines embossing folder using Minty Mint die ink and used white cardstock to emboss. From there I cut around part of the embossing so that only about half of the card would be covered. I embellished the card with some gems. The sentiment is from the Tropical Garden Stamp set.
Thank you for looking at all my cards. I did have loads of fun creating using this month’s embossing dies. They are so beautiful and fun to work with.
Now for the Good Stuff.

July 24, 2022 at 2:44 pmSo many lovely cards! It’s true that just because you don’t love a card doesn’t mean someone else won’t! I like the soft green with the gems and would be happy to get it in the mail. I think we tend to be more critical of our own work, I know I am!
