June 2024 Inspiration Challenge

Here’s the Inspiration photo. If you want to play along check out Altenew’s Blog.  #AltenewChallenge

And here’s the card I made.

For this project I used Altenew’s Plum Blossoms Layering Die Set. First, I colored three pieces of “Mineral Paper” by Yasutomo with Midnight Violet and Deep Iris Alcohol Inks from Altenew and Butterscotch Alcohol Ink from Ranger. The paper is made from rocks and can be used with alcohol inks. It’s quite thin, compared to cardstock, but it does not die cut well. However, for this project it didn’t matter. Each piece was cut to be big enough to hold two of the flowers or all the flower centers. Then, I die cut two flowers out of the Midnight Violet and two flowers from the Deep Iris and all the centers from the Butterscotch paper. I die cut the leaves from white cardstock. Next, I put a tape mask around the edge of the cardstock base and ink blended the center with Snapdragon Fresh Die Ink from Altenew. I assembled my flowers (glued the centers in place) and arranged the leaves and flowers diagonally down the inked center of the card. I added some drops around the flowers and in each flower center and then added the sentiment. Hope you like it.
