Altenew x Hero Arts Stampwheel Collab Blog Hop + Giveaway ($400 in Total Prizes!)
Welcome to my blog and the collaboration between Altenew and Hero Arts. To start at the beginning of the hop visit Altenew’s blog.
I recently purchased my Stampwheel and I can’t say enough great things about it. I love the sticky mat that comes with it to hold my paper in place. It does a much better job than the magnets in other stamp platforms. The sticky mat also doubles as a great place for stenciling and ink blending, because it keeps the paper in place without low tack tape. And, because it’s a stamp wheel it’s easy to create interesting patterns in a circular formation, like wreaths. You’ll see that in my card samples.
Because it’s approaching the holiday season my cards show two Christmas cards showcasing Hero Arts Merry Foliage stamp and die set. I hope you enjoy my cards and pick up some inspiration along the way.
In this first card I used one of the leafy images in the Merry Foliage die set. I placed it in the upper right corner of the dark red card and used the Stampwheel to pick up the stamp. I used a sticky, embossing ink and Altenew’s Rose Gold embossing powder. To stamp the leafy image in the lower left corner all I had to do was rotate the Stampwheel 180º and stamp again. The Stampwheel gave me a perfectly aligned stamp exactly opposite of the first one. To make the card look like it had a glow in the center I used Altenew’s Grapevine crisp dye ink and a blending brush to blend in toward the center, just a little less than an inch on each side. Then I used Altenew’s Jet Black fresh dye ink and blended the edge toward the center just a little bit, to make the very edge slightly darker. Finally, I mounted it on Brushed Rose Metallic Cardstock.
This second card really shows off what the Stampwheel can do. For this card I placed the Merry Christmas stamp on my card so that the M in merry lined up exactly in the center of the wheel. Then I stamped with embossing ink and rotated the Stampwheel just one point and stamped again until I had gone all the way around the wheel then embossed with silver embossing powder. The word merry doesn’t show because it’s in the center under the poinsettia but the the word Christmas is evenly spaced all around the card. I stamped the poinsettia on Altenew’s watercolor paper and used both their Artists’ Watercolor 24 Pan Set and their Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set to color it. I used the coordinating die cut to cut out the poinsettia and raised it up in the center of the card. Then I mounted the card on silver cardstock.
I hope you enjoyed my cards and got some inspiration.
Your next stop on the hop is the lovely Michelle.

September 29, 2023 at 3:58 amYour cards are beautiful But sadly that having to subscribe/patrionage and having to comfirm my email and then again security numbers just to be able to read this post interrupted or kind of destroyed the good flow of the hop. Projects done great though

September 29, 2023 at 7:19 amI’m so sorry that happened to you. It was not intentional. Thanks for letting me know and I’ll need to figure out how that happened and turn that setting off. No one should be required to subscribe to see my posts. I’ve been blogging for years and this I’d the first time that’s happened. Again I apologize profusely.
