I very much enjoyed crafting with this month’s release. My first card was created with Build-A-Garden Japanese Anemone. The set comes with a stamp set which includes the flower stamp as well as 6 sentiment stamps, a die that cuts out the flowers and a coloring stencil. I chose to watercolor the flowers using Altenew’s watercolor paper and their 24-color pan set. I used the die to partially die cut the edge of the front of the card base and place my watercolored piece along the edge so you could see the inside of the card. I chose a metallic pink cardstock to line the inside of the card. If you’ve followed me for a while you might have guessed that pink and purple are my favorite colors.
My next card uses the Craft-A-Flower: Saffron Layering Die. Oh dear, there are those purples again. Well, in this case the Saffron Crocus is purple in real life so I had a good excuse to use purple! I had painted the back ground using watercolors a long time ago is it was in my “I want to be a card” file and I though the purples matched pretty well. As I was looking for the perfect sentiment I ran across Altenew’s Well-Read Sentiment Stamp Set which included, “There is always light behind the clouds.” I thought the top of the watercolored background looked like clouds so this was the perfect sentiment.
My last card uses the Craft-Your-Life-Project-Kit: Botanical Line Art. The Craft-Your-Life-Project-Kits are a great bang for your buck because they come with so much product. This one came with a stamp set, coloring stencil, die cut, and a 3D embossing folder. For this card is used the embossing folder first. That embossed the tallest leaf. I used the one of the stencils to color that leaf, then I used one of the other stencils, that was designed to go with the stamp set, to color the leaf that is bending to the left. Because I didn’t stamp the image, the leaves had no stem, so I used Altenew’s Woodless Coloring Pencils to draw the stem and add the details to the leaves. The sentiment came from this stamp set and I stamped it first in a coordinating green color then with Versamark embossing ink and clear heat embossed it. I thought it created an elegant, simple sympathy card.
Thanks for joining me on this Marvelous Monthly Blog-hop. I hope you were able to get some inspiration. Be sure to leave a comment on my blog as well as the other blogs in this hop. You’re next stop on the hop is Virginia Lu.
