Altenew July 2022 Summer Sunshine Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)
Welcome to my Blog and Altenew’s Summer Sunshine release Blog Hop. I hope you’ve had fun along the way. If you’re following along on the hop you’ve arrived from the talented Maryam Perez. If you’d like to start at the beginning of the hop go to Altenew’s Blog.
Today I have 4 cards I want to share with you. I hope they will inspire you to create something for this wonderful release. Be sure to leave a comment on all the blogs to have a chance to win prizes. (More information below)
My first card uses the Captivating Blooms Stamp and Stencil set. I stamped the large flower cluster on white layering weight card stock the colored only the center with Volcano Lake and Hunter Green die ink. So the sentiment would stand out better over the “busy” background, I stamped it on some vellum, created a window, and foam mounted in the center of the card.
My second card used the same Captivating Blooms stamp set, but this time I stamped it on watercolor paper and heat embossed using Platinum embossing powder. I used a variety of pinks and purple watercolors from the 36 pan set and the Metallic watercolor set to color the image. Finally, I stamped “Thank You,” from the Monsteras and Quotes stamp set, and “for your generous hospitality,” from Hello and Hugs, on vellum and heat embossed using Platinum embossing powder and it added to the center of the card.
I’ve been using more and more layering die sets or Craft-A-Flower sets. Sometimes I think, after you put all the layers together, it seems too thin for my taste. So I’ve tried using vellum to create the flowers. This next card uses the Mini Flower Cluster Layering Die Set.
After I die cut all the flowers I used Altenew’s Rock Garden Alcohol Markers to color the flowers. I chose Volcano Lake die ink to stamp the Mosaic Diamond pattern on half of the white cardstock. I then stamped the sentiment using the Mosaic Diamond stamp set with Lagoon die ink, and stamped it again with embossing ink and heat set it using Crystal Clear Embossing Powder.
My next card uses the new Monstera Frame 3D Embossing Folder. I love the look of the 3D embossed image. It adds so much texture to a card.
This was a quick and east card to make. After embossing the Monstera Frame I used Bamboo die ink to lightly color just the raised images. I colored the flowers using Parrot and Olive inks and the Thank You using Moss all from Tropical Forest die ink set. Just to add a pop of color I mounted my sentiment piece on a bright piece of pink cardstock to show just a thin frame.
I also have a bonus card today. I used the Linear Life: Tropical Garden stamp and die set as well as a 3D embossing folder that will be released on July 22. So you’re getting a sneak peek at an up and coming embossing folder.
I hope you enjoyed my cards and found some inspiration for yourself. Now for the good stuff.
