Busy, Busy, Busy

I’ve been a card making maniac. I’ve finished AECP and this past week I attended an online card making summit. I was great and gave me a lot of inspiration. The card I want to share with you today is one of my, current, favorites. It’s a birthday card for a very close friend. I want to make all my cards special but sometimes they need to be extra special. It started with an idea to make a embossing paste back ground and then add some gold watercolor. I got the idea from Tasneem from Altenew. However, she used watercolor cardstock and I did not. So mine came out a hot mess.

The paint didn’t flow nicely and I didn’t like it at all. However, I don’t want to through stuff out if I can salvage it. I decide that I would heat emboss a flower in gold to pull together the gold paint on the background. I also wanted to use a similar color on the flowers that I used for the embossing paste, so I colored the leaves that bluish green.

When put the flowers on the embossed background that gold blob looked awful. But all was not lost because I could hide the blob behind the flower.

That looked fine to me. Here is the final card.

I really love the way it turned out.

I used the Beautiful Day stamp and die set, Artists’ Watercolor 24 Pan Set, Square Weave Pattern stencil, embossing paste, and Rose Gold embossing powder, all from Altenew
