Zentangle for Card Makers

Because I’m a Certified Zentangle Teacher, certified by Zentangle, Inc., I very much love this class. Taking one art style/medium and mixing it with another is always creatively expanding. If you read my last post you know that creativity is always difficult for me. I may be suffering from Imposter Syndrome (well, only kidding).

Here is the first card I made.

I took the Watercolor Wonders stamp set and stamped the largest image in 3 shades of blue. Next, I tangled a different pattern within each color. I tried to make one pattern look like it was underneath the others. Did I succeed? Next, I had drew a stem and used one of the leaf stamps for the leaf. I then tangled in the stem and added some details to the leaf. I finished off with a sentiment and some Altenew enamel dots in black and Vintage NUVO Drops in white. Finally, I mounted it on a black cardstock and added it to my white card base. A little different than my usual style, but that’s what creativity is all about, right?

My second card I used an idea from the class. She had used a stencil and then tangled on the white spaces left after stenciling. I didn’t have the same stencil but this one worked just fine. I love the bright colors I chose for this card. Doesn’t just call out Happy Birthday?
