Impressive Heat Embossing
Wow, what a wonderful class this was. So many great ways to use heat embossing. I made two cards for this class. The first one was a sympathy card.
For this card I used Altenew’s Beautiful Bergenia 3D embossing folder and heavy weight black cardstock. Once the cardstock was embossed I gently rubbed the VersaMark ink pad over the raised part of the images. I then sprinkled gold embossing powder over the card. I forgot to use an anti-static powder before I added the embossing ink (oops) so I had too much gold powder, so I took a wide dry paint brush and gently brushed off some of the powder before I heat set it. I heat the sentiment with the same gold embossing powder on cream colored cardstock and die cut it out to add to the front. Finally I added it to a cream colored card base.
My second card was a Celebrate card.
For this card I used the Watercolor Wonders stamp set from Altenew. I used the largest flower and heat set each layer with a different color of gold embossing powder. The first layer was Rose Gold from Altenew, second layer Gold from Ranger and the detail layer Jewel Gold from Stampendous. Then I used two different silvers for the leaves, Silver from Gina K and Rainbow Crystal from Stampendous. I stamped the sentiment with Obsidian ink from Altenew and heat set it with clear embossing powder. Finally I used Altenew’s Antique Silver and Antique Gold ink sprays to spatter the background. I foam mounted it on a piece of black cardstock before adhering it to my card base. I quite pleased with the way these cards turned out. Let me know your thoughts.
