Where Flowers Bloom …

I just received my official letter from Altenew accepting me into their Educator’s Program, AECP. I’ve been working through several of their classes, as you may have noticed from previous posts, and today I’m posting my first official entry. This card was made using knowledge from their first All About Layering class. I received Watercolor Wonders stamp and die set for Christmas and I was anxious to use it. Pink is my favorite color and green coordinates so well with it when making flowers. The first thing I did was use some of the smaller die cuts from the set to die cut a background that was interesting, but not too busy. A tip I learned from one of Altenew’s die cutting classes. I mounted that on white cardstock and then I mounted that on green cardstock that coordinated with the green in the leaves. I then stamped two of the medium sized flowers in pinks and die cut them. I also stamped and die cut the smallest flower and some of the leaves. The sentiment came from the Peony Spray stamp set. I used a Wink of Stella marker in clear to give some shimmer to the flower centers. I can’t wait to work on my next project.

This is a beautiful card. The background makes the florals jump out. I am just beginning Level 1 tomorrow, any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
