Altenew January Challenge
2021 is finally here! With luck, hope and dedication 2021 will be the best year yet, at least better than 2020. I’m going to be working toward Altenew Educator Certification Program and I’m so excited about that. I’m going to need to be more active on my own blog. So stay tuned. Today I’m posting my take on their January Challenge.
Pink is my very favorite color so this image was perfect for me.

I started by stamping images from the Pen Sketched Silhouette set with a light grey ink (Silver Stone, I think) on to watercolor paper. Then I painted over the stamped image using the Artist’s Watercolors Cherry Blossom and Rock Collection. I wanted to stamp Breathe Deep on the card front but didn’t have a stamp that said that. I have some old alphabet stamp sets that I thought I could spell it out, but one tiny mistake and my whole card would be ruined, and it took me a couple of hours to paint it. So I decided to stamp the sentiment on a separate watercolor paper scrap and then die cut it out and adhered it to the front. I’m very new to watercoloring and I’m quite proud of this. I’ve been taking several of Altenew Academy watercolor classes which have been very helpful.
